I am a writer and creator with diverse experience in journalism, advocacy, media and education. I’m presently on staff at the innovative CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, where I get to engage with students, academics and public officials. I’m a freelance writer excited to pitch some new articles. Past jobs include consulting editor at The City Reporter, editor in chief of City Limits online, college journalism teacher, daily newspaper reporter, and preserver of neighborhood small business, culture, and architecture in NYC’s East Village. I participated in the founding and operation of the trendsetting park, the High Line, and directed and produced two short films about unique places. In every capacity, I bring imagination, inclusivity and a love of community. A Northern Virginia native and University of Virginia graduate, I live with my family in New York.
